2.4 Habitat Restoration
Because Northern High has been slated for demolition for some time now, students have been told not to work on any permanent structures or gardens on campus. So instead of working on temporary NHS projects, most habitat restoration efforts have been focused in the local community. We have helped to restore part of the shoreline in North Beach, planted a mosquito-repellent garden in Chesapeake Beach, laid rock on the side of Fishing Creek to prevent erosion, and planted buffer gardens in a local housing development. Please read about our earnest habitat restoration efforts below.
